Students Policy
Effective Date: 26 November 2024
1. Purpose
This policy outlines the responsibilities of parents, students, and New Grasp Academy to ensure safety, discipline, and maximum benefit from online lessons.
2. Before the Lesson
Parents must ensure that:
The student joins from a laptop or tablet. If only a phone is available, you may try, but the academy cannot guarantee a stable connection.
The student is dressed in proper outdoor-style clothing (no pajamas, no sleeveless, short, or tight clothing).
The student is seated at a desk or table, not on a bed.
All essentials are prepared nearby (water, tissues, pencil, notebook).
The student logs in 5 minutes before the lesson to test microphone, camera, and internet connection.
The child visits the bathroom before class to remain comfortable.
3. During the Lesson
Parents must ensure that:
There is no background noise (TV, radio, pets, etc.). If disruptive noise continues, the student’s microphone will be muted and they may not be able to participate fully.
Chewing gum is not allowed.
Use of cosmetics or makeup is not permitted.
Students must remain respectful and engaged.
4. After the Lesson
Parents must ensure that homework is submitted on time.
5. Child Protection & Safeguarding
New Grasp Academy provides a safe environment free from abuse, bullying, or harassment.
Recording, screenshots, or sharing lesson content, images, or videos is strictly prohibited without written consent from the academy.
6. Children’s Privacy
Student data (name, age, recordings) is kept confidential and used only for educational purposes.
- Parents may withdraw consent for promotional use of their child’s media at any time.
7. Assigning Teachers
The academy assigns teachers based on the student’s schedule and learning needs.
The academy reserves the right to change the teacher at any time if necessary (e.g., teacher availability, quality improvement, timetable balance).
Parents will be notified of any change, and such change will not affect the number of sessions or the student’s rights.
8. Parental Supervision
Parents are encouraged to stay nearby, especially for younger learners.
The academy is not responsible if a child is left unsupervised.
9. Safe Use of Technology
Lessons must be accessed through secure devices with a working camera and microphone.
Parents are responsible for safe internet access.
10. Dress Code and Appearance
Students must attend lessons in neat, appropriate clothing (no pajamas, sleeveless, short, or tight clothes).
Hair must be neat, and students must appear tidy and respectful.
Non-compliance may result in the session being marked as completed without refund.
11. Academy Disclaimer
The academy is not responsible for recordings, photos, or videos taken by parents/students without consent.
The academy is not liable for unauthorized sharing of student data/media by parents or third parties.
Responsibility lies with the parent for supervising technology use and data outside the academy platform.
